Working with Interior Designer, Ann Clements, D3 put together interior space plans, furniture designs and colour schemes for British Gypsum in Sherburn in Elmet. The client picked desks with low level storage attached to spread out plans and drawings. Monitor arms were also chosen to ensure effective ergonomics and also keep desks as clutter free as possible.

NDL Metascybe, one of the UK’s leading providers of bi-directional software integration asked D3 to re-design and plan its main office and replace all their old office chairs. Using ERA screens, D3 effectively screened off a walk way through the office providing acoustic softening and security for sensitive customer work. Orangebox Go and X10 chairs were selected in corporate colours and Hawk desking was used to complete the fit-out.

CPD, the Hull based national distributor of cleaning products, contacted D3 to re-configure their office space. The company had already installed a number of Hawk desks and Orangebox chairs in 2008, but were growing quickly and needed to change some of the furniture and room layout to accommodate additional staff.
Installation work was carried out during the Christmas break and has provided a stylish finish to their offices. 20 large older style desks were replaced with 30 wave shape desks. The photograph shows the team moving back into their new office space in January.

Infection control is one of the buzz words in hospitals and rightly so. D3 carried out a large-scale fit out for the new Castle Hill Oncology and Cardiac Hospitals in Hull during 2009 and still deliver matching products there as and when required.
D3 has extensive knowledge of infection control fabrics and vinyls. The products outlined below were installed at the Castle Hill cardiac hospital visitor waiting area. They were competitively tendered against other suppliers ensuring value for money for the hospital, yet come with a 5 year warranty and the knowledge that all products have been manufactured to avoid passing on infections. The colour schemes were chosen around autumnal golds, reds and greens.

Hull Provider NHS headquarters was an interesting project, as it involved a number of different contractors and some pretty tight time schedules for when furniture could be installed. We worked closely with the NHS and the main contractor and delivered the project on time and within budget at the site in Hessle, East Yorkshire.
Interesting points to note about this particular project are the use of screens with tool bars, which have now become very popular and also the clever use of steel tambour storage in corridor positions.
We’ll certainly remember the delivery day, as we had a full van load of steel tambours to deliver in torrential rain!

Whilst the larger part of this project was carried out in 2008, we felt it worth highlighting as further purchases have been made during 2009 and 2010 to accommodate more employees and it’s a job for which we’re particularly proud.
NISA Today’s is one of the UK’s most successful food companies supplying over £1.4b worth of products to independent stores throughout the UK.
D3 was asked to become involved in the fit-out of their new headquarters after building work had commenced in late 2007. After several meetings and a product show day held in Scunthorpe product choices and colour schemes were agreed. Comprehensive CAD plans were put together and then varified against spreadsheets to ensure that space had been made available for every member of staff. Individual meetings were held with Senior Managers and Department Heads to ensure that all their furniture and storage needs were catered for. The new building contains three floors with over 200 staff. Installation work was phased over two weeks, working with the client to ensure that everything was in place and ready for the transfer from their previous buildings. In total more than 200 desks, 300 chairs, 120 filing cabinets and 100 desk high storage units were delivered and installed during the main furniture installation process.

In 2010 D3 was asked to put together some drawings and ideas for Westmill Foods after they’d had to temporarily move out of their building in Selby. We worked with the electronic version of the archiect’s plans to put together a set of furniture that was within Westmill’s budget, matched their corporate colours and provided a quality that would stand the test of time. We’ve been most impressed with their choice of boardroom chair, which works particularly well in the Camira Xtreme Plus Diablo fabric. Due to the shape and size of the main office it was tricky to get a good fit for all their furniture requirements we’re pleased with the overall outcome.

During March 2010 D3 carried out a large-scale furniture installation in Middlesbrough on behalf of Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The project, which had been competitively tendered during 2009, was for the new Rosebury Park Hospital and included the installation of around 300 desks and the placement of 800 chairs. The new hospital looks fantastic and we’ve been delighted to be a part of its development.
