We are proud to announce the achievement of the ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditations, which the business has been working on for more than six months. The ISO accolades are an international acknowledgement that a business is run efficiently and effectively and are often asked for by large corporations and public sector clients alike.

The ISO accreditation process was undertaken by local company Ferriby Marine and accredited by Global Group. D3’s Director of Operations, paul Ramsden oversaw the project at D3 and is relieved to have completed the work so he can concentrate on other duties!

After months of planning and development work, we’re delighted to launch our brand new interiors website www.d3interiors.co.uk Our previous incarnation had provided an excellent platform to showcase our range of office furniture. However, many ranges had changed and it was time to breathe new life into our furniture site.

Stationery and office furniture aren’t usually associated with a celebration of laughter, but this year D3 Office Group have teamed up with the Hull Comedy Festival to help share the hilarity. We will deliver 1,500 Hull Comedy Festival brochures to around 1,000 businesses across the city. Joint branded vans will launch on Thursday 15^th September, with drivers sporting T-shirts to help promote the diverse programme of acts.

The Hull Comedy Festival will run for a full month, from 21^st October until 21^st November, including top comedians the likes of Tim Minchin, Tommy Tiernan and Lucy Porter in numerous venues across Hull and the surrounding area.

Following a thorough review of its environmental practices, D3 has been awarded Carbon Smart “Gold” status for its efforts to reduce its carbon foot-print. An average UK employee contributes approximately 4 tons of CO2 emmissions per year whilst at work; D3’s employees emitted 600kg during the same period.

The company recently invested in satallite tracking for its van fleet in order to identify further ways of reducing CO2s generated during deliveries. Overall we aim to reduce our carbon footprint by a further 15% over the next three years.

Unscrupulous thieves have stolen around 5 miles of cable to the industrial estate in which our Leeds site is based in the early hours of Friday morning. Despite this, our team has rallied, diverted the phone line to Hull and have travelled to the Hull site to answer phones and handle customer enquiries from there for the day. We apologise if some calls weren’t answered early Friday morning, but it’s now “business as usual” in terms of taking calls and processing orders. We have been advised that the replacement cables will be in place sometime Monday, but will retain an enlarged team in Hull until the problem has been resolved.

After roping in some of his colleagues to carry out the Jane Tomlinson 10k run, they got their own back by arranging to have Martin Shaw dunked at the HOTA off shore training centre (A D3 customer) near D3’s Hull office. Commenting on the dunking Martin said “I’ve just found out who my friends are, gurgle gurgle”

We’ve completed the race and achieved our target of £1,000 for Real Aid. Well done to our team for taking part and a huge thankyou to everyone that sponsored us. There’s talk of entering the Leeds race next year, but a few days to let legs recover is probably called for first!
